Palm Beach Co. hit record high in tourism, visitor spending for early 2024!



WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — From Boca Raton to Jupiter, Palm Beach County has seen record-highs in tourism so far this year.


Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) announced on Monday, that the county reached a massive milestone in visitation during the first-half of 2024.


Tourism is among Palm Beach County's major industries, generating an annual economic impact of approximately $10 billion and supporting more than 85,000 local jobs, according to DTPB.


From January to June 2024, The Palm Beaches welcomed 5.19 million visitors, marking an all-time high compared to the same period from previous years. Total visitation: The Palm Beaches had an all-time high of 5.19 million visitors, a 1.7% increase compared to the first half of 2023.


International visitation: International visitation grew to an all-time high of 488,100 visitors, an 11.9% increase compared to the first half of 2023.


Strengthening the economy: Visitor spending reached an all-time high of $4.05 billion, a 2.4% increase compared to the first half of 2023, contributing to the economic vitality of the region.


The DTPB said the county's 47 miles of beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and way of life are what make Palm Beach County a vacation hotspot.
